Sporting events along the way

There's a whole load of events in today's world, from fairs, to concerts and festivals, to parades that will take place while we travel and that we will make an effort to go to... but let's face it, we are all crazy for sports! And since it is now in my line of work, here is a list of sporting events that will happen during our trip and in countries we're planning to go to (or might eventually include) that might shape our itinerary in one way or another:

2011 Caribbean World Series (Baseball) – Puerto Rico (Beginning of February)
2011 Australian Football League Grand Final – Australia (End of February)
2011 Final Bledisloe Cup Match (Rugby) – Hong Kong (End of October)
2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup – Colombia (July 29 – August 20)
2011 FIFA Club World Cup – Japan (December 8 – December 18)
2011 World Championships in Athletics – South Korea (August 27 – September 4)
FIBA Americas Championship 2011 – Argentina (August 27 – September 8)
2011 Pacific Games – New Caledonia (September)
Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships – Australia (December 3 – December 18)

It’s not in any particular order (except for sailing being in last), just a bunch of info collected from different sources.

We need to keep the momentum going on the RTW trip if it is going to happen, be all that we want it to be. Thet implies that we start planning and joining material which we can use to stencil out the trip.

In will we go we need:

-Ideas of places to go
-Ideas of parties/events to go
-Travel tips
-List of freinds where we can crash along the way
-Random inputs

It can't be me doing all the work if this is gong to be productive so get your act together and make sure you input and comment the posts. I will work on getting the google document sup so that we can organize the stuff that we come up with here.

Today is just one of those days where you get the sense of satisfaction and fulfilness over something that you put a great deal of energy and effort in to. MAN it just feels great to have steered and taken from 0 a guy who today came 4th in the world...

This is a fucking massive cherry on top og my sailing cake!
